Frequently asked questions.

What does home watch cost?

Each property is different so the cost will depend on a variety of things: the size of your home, your specific needs, frequency of visits, etc. We don’t give quotes over the phone as an in-person walkthrough and more thorough conversation with you will help us determine a fair price for both of us.

How does the process work?

We meet with you personally at your house and discuss your needs. We do a walkthrough of your property and are able to provide you a quote at that time based on your specific needs. If you are ready to move forward, then we put everything in writing and get the service agreement signed. Once everything is signed, we set a start date and begin our services. After each visit, a thorough report is emailed to you showing that we went through the entire checklist we discussed at the time you signed up for services.

Home Watch services begin, now what? Do you use an app?

We use a secure cloud-based software that stores all your information safely & securely. We record our findings on a custom checklist that we create together which is designed for your home. This report also has any necessary photos for you to review and it sent you via email immediately following the visit. If anything should need your immediate attention, we will contact you right away.

How are you different than an alarm company?

Alarm companies do not monitor potential problems that can arise from mechanical system failures, broken pipes, pests, etc. Additionally, they do not visually inspect your home and property by doing an extensive walkthrough each visit like we do. Alarm companies can notify you of vandalism or a break in but it that doesn’t happen, nobody is inside your home the entire time you are absent. Leaving your home to possible disasters from these mechanical failures, etc.

What is the difference between a house sitter and a professional home watcher?

A house sitter is someone who temporarily lives in the home while the owners are away. Unlike a home watcher, they usually have limited knowledge of mechanical systems and our unsure what to look for when actually to a home watch visit. A professional home watcher knows what to look for when inside the home and is there specifically to look for issues that may become a bigger problem.

We have a neighborhood watch program. Isn’t that the same thing?

Most neighborhood watch programs are passive and do not provide the level of engagement with your property as we do. We will check your property’s interior and exterior in far more detail than you can expect from a neighborhood watch program. We are also fully insured and bonded, protecting you if something should happen. Your neighbor or family member that may be checking on your home is not insured! Leaving you and them at risk if something goes wrong.

Do you offer home maintenance services?

We do not offer home maintenance services outside of changing detector batteries, furnace filters & light bulbs, but we would be more than happy to refer you to local contractors that can complete the more extensive jobs. We will also help coordinate access to your property for the contractor and stay on-site (if requested) for an hourly charge.
